Addressing a mass meeting at Attariya of Kailali district Monday, Dahal said that the upcoming CA would prepare a draft of the new constitution within the first six months of its formation and promulgate within a year after finalizing all the contentious issues.[break]
Dahal reiterated that the country would face further political impasse if a political force was not given a clear majority and the people would suffer.
Dahal urged all people to vote the UCPN (Maoist) to save the nation from plunging into further crisis.
The former Prime Minister said that his party was committed to ending discrimination and suppression imposed by the central state power.
Dahal claimed that the former CA was dissolved after the political parties failed to forge consensus regarding the state-restructuring and form of governance. The second CA would move ahead by following the political understanding made in the past and write the constitution, he added.
On the occasion, Dahal welcomed new entrants in the UCPN (Maoist) including Navaraj Acharya, a candidate for the first-past-the-post election system of the Nepal Ama Party from Kailali Constituency No. 5 and cadres of different parties.
Similarly, UCPN (Maoist) leader Lekhraj Bhatta and other local leaders of the party appealed to the voters to elect their party candidates for writing constitution that ensures the rights of people from different communities.
Dahal had already addressed people in Bajura, Achham, Dadeldhura, and Doti districts as per his election campaign.
