KATHMANDU, June 16: A new community hospital is to be constructed in Chandragiri. With Rs. 30 million support from the State 3 government and Rs. 10 million of its own, the Chandragiri municipality is constructing the hospital at Matatirtha in ward no. 8 of the municipality.
The 15 -25 bed health facility will be housed in a three and half storey building. Other funds necessary for the hospital will be borne by the ward no. 8, said municipality spokesperson Haribhakta Maharjan. The hospital is estimated to be completed within a year and is expected to serve over 100,000 people annually.

Based on area, Chandragiri is the biggest municipality in State no. 3. Laying foundation stone for the hospital at a function held on Saturday, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) senior leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said that the hospital upon completion could also serve residents not only of Chandragiri but also from neighbouring Dhading.
Mayor of the municipality Ghanashyam Giri said the hospital will help realize the citizen’s right to health guaranteed by the Constitution.
