KATHMANDU, May 29: The opposition parties have criticized the budget, arguing that it fails to solve the economic problems facing the country.

CPN-UML Chairman K P Sharma Oli has said that the budget will not solve the economic problems facing the country. While talking to media persons outside the federal parliament, Chairman Oli said that the budget has been able to show the problems of the country's ailing economy but fails to provide solutions to those problems. "The budget shows the crisis, but it does not provide any solutions to the crisis," he said.

Chiarman Oli further stated that his party will publicize detailed views on the budget later.

Echoing Oli, Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Rajendra Lingden, said that although there is an urgent need to resolve the country's current economic crisis and challenges, the budget failed to make any positive interventions towards that end.

Lingden mentioned that while it was good to hear the budget brought by the previous governments, there were problems in its implementation. He also stated that the current budget faces challenges in its implementation.

Chairman Lingden pointed out that since the budget is based on grants and loans, there is no room for hope for the people. Lingden also claimed that even though the budget includes positive aspects such as the reduction of public expenditure, the budget alone cannot solve the current economic problems in the country.
