KATHMANDU, March 17: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday declined 10.62 points to close at 2,070.25 points.
The market opened at 2,080.87 points and fell straight to 2,072.24 points in the first 15 minutes of trading. The index then reached the day’s high at 2,085.68 points in the next one hour. However, the market went to a downward graph in the remaining trading hours and hit the day’s low at 2,064.5 points in the last 20 minutes before the market closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 1.55 points. The daily turnover further declined to Rs 3.38 billion from Rs 3.94 billion on Thursday.
Three groups including manufacturing and processing, development bank and finance gained in their market values in the intraday trading on Sunday. Of the 10 losers, hotels and tourism plunged the highest of 82.95 points.
Among individual companies, only 84 were recorded as gainers whereas 150 were the losers.
Shivam Cements Ltd with transactions worth Rs 416.41 million led the segment of highest turnover. Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 7.83 percent of its market price, while Saptakoshi Development Bank Ltd was recorded as the top gainer.
