KATHMANDU, June 19: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday increased marginally by 2.27 points to close at 2,078.76 points.
The market opened at 2,076.49 points and escalated to the day’s high to 2,086.82 points in the first half an hour. In the next one hour, the market slid to as low as 2,074.53 points and remained almost stable for another over an hour. The index plunged to the day’s low to 2,073.58 points in the last 15 minutes before the market closed for the day.
Nepse snaps five-week winning streak
The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies increased by 0.55 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 3.40 billion from Rs 4.05 billion on Tuesday.
Six out of the 13 groups were the gainers. Finance index surged the largest of 58.87 points, while the trading index witnessed the biggest fall of 38.78 points.
Among individual companies, 135 were recorded as gainers whereas 104 were the losers.
Nepal Finance Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 202.33 million. The company also stood as the topmost gainer. Manakamana Smart Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 9.88 percent of its market value.
