KATHMANDU, July 9: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Sunday added 28.38 points to its index to close at 2,077.76 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,049.38 points and hit the day’s high at 2,085.23 points in the first half an hour of trading. The market however dropped around 22 points in the next two and a half hours, before it was revived again by 14 points to close for the day.

In the intraday trading, 168 listed companies gained while 50 companies lost in their market values. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies gained 6.35 points.
All the 13 trading groups cheered with some added values. Of them, four including hotels and tourism, non-life insurance, life insurance and trading gained three-digit points.
The daily turnover amount stood at Rs 3.042 billion, a slight drop from Rs 3.077 billion on Thursday.
Among individual companies, Himalayan Life Insurance Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 186.07 million. Rawa Energy Development Limited gained the highest percent of its market price, while Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower was the biggest loser.
