Nepse gains 16.86 points past week

KATHMANDU, June 1: Shares worth Rs 4 billion 331 million 624 thousand were traded in the share market this week. 


The Nepal Stock Exchange Limited's Nepse index which measures the share transactions has increased by 16.86 points.

Nepse which was at 1302.61 points on the first day of the week rose to 1,319.47 points on the last day of the trading week. A total 13 million 663 thousand 271 units of shares of 174 companies were traded throughout the week.


The government this week made public the budget for the next fiscal year. Share transaction had seen an increase of eight points on Tuesday, a day before the budget was announced and it increased only by nominal point on Thursday, a day after the budget.


According to NEPSE, the Nepse index saw a decrease of double digit on the first day of the week. The index that measures the share transactions dropped 11.93 points to sit at 302.61 points. 


The sensitive index that measures the share trading of big companies also decreased by 2.82 points to rest at 277.56 points. Two million 54 thousand 286 units of shares worth Rs 620 million 621 thousand 666 of total 165 companies were traded on that day in the share market that sees transactions crossing one billion rupees.
