KATHMANDU, Dec 20: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday increased 14.22 points to close at 1,873.11 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,858.89 points and escalated to 1,877.77 points within the first one hour. In the next one hour, the market moved slowly in the upward direction and hit the day’s high at 1,881.19 points. The market then declined by around eight points before it closed for the day.
Nepse up for a fifth consecutive week
The daily turnover increased slightly to Rs 930.83 million from Rs 886.09 million on Monday. In the intraday trading, a total of 153 companies gained in their market value while 46 companies lost on their share prices.
The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chips companies increased 2.68 points. All the 13 trading groups added up in their market values. Life insurance gained 83.85 points, the largest of all.
In individual companies, Nepal Doorsanchar Company had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 63.83 million. Adhikhola Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was the top gainer, while Sunrise Bluechip Fund lost the highest percent of its market value.
