KATHMANDU, August 20: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) gained 30.34 points last week after undergoing a fluctuation of 83.93 points in the weekdays transaction.
The secondary market opened at 2,037.92 points on Sunday and closed at 2,068.26 points on Thursday. The market index soared as high as 2,088.22 points whereas it went to the lowest of 2,004.29 points.

The market shed 27.92 points on the first transaction day of the last week. The market however bounced back with 55.88 points on Monday. But the index fell successively by 24.83 points and 0.36 points on the consecutive two days. The market closed for the week on a positive note by gaining 27.56 points on Thursday.
Despite adding in its overall index, the transaction volume fell to Rs 10.50 billion from Rs 12.04 billion in the previous week. A single day transaction declined to the lowest of Rs 1.40 billion on Wednesday.
Market capitalization increased to Rs 2.963 trillion from Rs 2.909 trillion, securing the investors with a gain of Rs 53.94 billion in book values of their shares.
In Individual companies, Ridi Hydropower Development Company, with transactions of its shares worth Rs 703.25 million, topped the group. Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company was the biggest gainer while NMB 50, a mutual fund scheme, lost the highest percent of its market value.
