Sensitive Index, which measures the trading of Category ´A´ companies, marginally went down by 0.91 points to settle at 116.98 points. Banking - the heavyweight trading group in the secondary market - suffered the most on the day, losing 8.86 points on its sub-index to close at 455.03 points. [break]
Similarly, Development Bank, Finance and Insurance groups also saw their sub-indices go down by 3.25 points, 5.45 points and 1.6 points respectively to close at 498.91 points, 427.19 points and 569.66 points respectively.
However, Hydropower and Others groups recorded double-digit gains. Sub-indices of Hydropower and Others groups rose by 11.51 points and 10.57 points to close at 726.28 points and 553.4 points respectively.
A total of 72,102 units of shares and 72 scrips worth Rs 32.51 million changed hands through 1,255 transactions. Total market capitalization - total worth of listed shares -- was recorded at Rs 373.84 billion.
