KATHMANDU, Dec 8: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday descended 3.02 points to close at 2,606.67 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,609.69 points, initially nosedived to day’s low at 2,601.72 points in the first 17 minutes. Within the next one hour, the index rose to as high as 2,618.23 points, while it hovered around an average of 2,609.32 points for another two hours. The market again came down to 2,602.02 points in the last four minutes as it recovered around four points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

As life insurance surged by the highest of 65.48 points, manufacturing and processing, trading, non-life insurance and hydropower registered among the gainers. Of the eight losers, hotels and tourism went down by the largest of 16.58 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 1.50 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 4.66 billion from Rs 5.33 billion.
Among the individual companies, 99 were gainers while 147 were recorded as losers. Ngadi Group Power Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 558.66 million.
Support Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha declined by a whopping 111 points (5.16 percent). Upper Syange Hydropower Limited had the highest increase of 10 percent in its market price.
