KATHMANDU, Sept 5: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday declined by 12.10 points to close at 2,727.36 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,739.46 points and reached the day’s low at 2,687.25 points in the first one and a half hours. However, the market surged in the next moment and hit the day’s high at 2,758.93 points when the last 20 minutes were left for trading. The market then shed 31 points before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, declined by 2.36 points. The daily turnover decreased to Rs 9.65 billion from Rs 12.92 billion on Wednesday.
Among individual companies, 102 were recorded as gainers whereas 138 were the losers.
Only two out of the 13 groups including microfinance and trading gained 86.41 points and 6.37 points, respectively. Of the losers, life insurance shed the biggest of 102.26 points in its market index.
Nepal Finance Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 405.09 million. The company, with a downfall of 8.91 percent of its market price, was recorded as the topmost loser. Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was recorded as the topmost gainer.
