Nepal had earlier lost two matches against Kuwait and Jordan and is scheduled to take on Qatar and India.
The matches are being played in three-in-three format. The team that scores 33 points first wins the match under the FIBA-33 rule.
CPS into Prime Cup quarterfinals
KATHMANDU, Nov 3: CPS entered into the quarterfinals of boys´ category during the Seventh Prime Cup +2(U-19) Basketball Championship on Tuesday.
CPS defeated ACE 43-42 in a thriller played at the Court of Prime College. CPS dominated the first half of the match with the score of 11-7 in first quarter and 16-5 in the second quarter. ACE bounced back in the third quarter and scored 12 against 4. They kept the momentum going in the fourth quarter with the score of 18 against 12 but remained one point short in the end. Sandeep scored 17 points for the winning team.
Likewise, Prime continued their winning streak as they thrashed NCCS with the final score of 69-12. Ketan Khadka was the highest scorer for the host team with 20 points. Goldengate ´B´ achieved their second victory of the tournament after they thrashed Campion at the final score of 42-24. Navaraj Dhakal gathered 21 points of Goldengate ´B´.

Meanwhile, Xavier International beat National Campus 31-28 as Manish Man alone scored 10 points for the winner. Whitefield obtained marginal victory against Galaxy. Whitefield won the game at the score of 33-31. Bijay Gurung was highest scorer for the winning side as he scored 21 points. Whitehouse defeated VS Niketan 38-33 in the last match of the day in boys´ category.
In girls´ group, Whitehouse outclassed National Campus 35-9 as Sajani Tamang scored 11 points for the winning team.
Likewise, Xavier International beat Orient 14-9. Sheema Karki scored 10 points for the winner.
New Summit, Malpi enter quarterfinals
KATHMANDU, Nov 3: New Summit and Malpi International entered the quarterfinals in the senior boys´ match of the First LA Inter-school Basketball Tournament on Tuesday at Hattiban.
New Summit defeated Ullens 68-65 and Gems 56-43. Likewise, Malpi defeated the organizer LA ´B´ 32-26.
In the senior girls´ match, LA ´A´ entered into the quarterfinals by defeating Gyanodaya Balbatika 21-16.
