KATHMANDU, Nov 11: A new provision has been implemented allowing Nepali citizens with labor permits to travel to their destination countries via Indian airports without the need for a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

The Nepali Embassy in Delhi has issued a notice stating that an NOC is still required for travel to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, Libya, and Lebanon. However, Nepali citizens holding foreign labor permits are exempt from this requirement.

In addition, Nepali diplomats, officials, and service passport holders, Nepali citizens with United Nations Laissez-Passer (UNLP), and Nepali minors under the age of 16 are also not required to obtain an NOC.

Nepali citizens with visas for the United States, the United Kingdom, and Schengen countries will also not require an NOC. However, travelers going to Russia, except those who have received scholarships from the Russian government or hold a professional visa, will need to obtain an NOC from the embassy or Nepal's Department of Consular Services.

The embassy has requested Nepali citizens who require an NOC to contact the embassy at least seven days before the specified date, along with all necessary documents mentioned on the embassy's website. The service fee for the travel NOC is set at 1,000 Indian Rupees per person.
