Nepali youth bearing brunt in Saudi jail

ILLAM March 16: A youth of Mai municipality in Ilam district has been serving a painful jail life in Saudi Arab for the past 11 months. 



Prem Bahadur Rai, 29, a local of Danabari of Mai municipality, has urged the government to take necessary initiative to save his life for he was not guilty.

His brother, Chakra Bahadur Rai, informed about the imprisonment of Prem Rai in Saudi. 

The company framed him on fake issue without any reason, Chakra Bahadur quoted his brother Prem. 


Rai was a Lorry driver in Ul-Sahalabi Company. The cable-laden lorry he was driving was theft from the area it was parked. He had informed the Company and police of the incident of theft. 


The vehicle however was found in the area somewhere 10-km away from the Company after two days. On the case police sentenced him two months jail term and 50 whips. 

Even after serving jail imprisonment first time, he was again arrested from airport on charge of theft and is facing jail term with penalty of 310,000 Real. 


Chakra urged all sides concerned to take necessary effort to dispense justice to his innocent brother. RSS
