Arjun Panta of Hardineta-6 of Gulmi took his own life by hanging himself at 1 am Monday night at a garment factory in Thegu, where he used work, Shankar Rana, chairman of the Gulmi-Korea liaison committee said.
According to Rana, Panta had recently been talking about returning home. He had told his Nepali co-workers that he would return Nepal on coming Friday. There were three Nepalis working there in the factory.
The 23-year-old had come to South Korea for employment under the employment permit system (EPS) about a year ago. The Nepali embassy in Seoul said his body is in hospital and that the police are looking into the case.
Just some time ago in a similar incident, Kewal Limbu of Morang had tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself with knife in Busan.
