Nepali UN peace-keeper dies in Lebanon

UDAYAPUR, Jan 5: Bharat Karki, 34, a Nepal Army personnel from Bansbari-1 of Udayaur's Triyoga Municipality, serving in the UN peace-keeping mission in Lebanon died on the way to hospital on Friday. Karki, who was suffering from stomach pain, died on the way to hospital. Due to a heavy snowfall on the way, he could not be taken to the hospital on time.

Karki, a father of two daughters, was a member of Nandbaksh Battalion in Udayapur district. The battalion source informed that preparations are underway to bring his body home. Meanwhile, Lila Bhakta Karki , 46, a resident of Udayapur, died on Nov 27, in a road accident in Saudi Arabia. He was working as the outdoor laborer for the Rafha Al Tejarat Company for the last eight months. Karki's family has been waiting for his body since his death.
