Nepali team off to Colombo to attend SAARC Women Entrepreneur Awards

KATHMANDU, March 1: A 14-member team from the SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneurs Council (SCWEC) has left for Colombo, Sri Lanka, to participate in the SAARC Women Entrepreneur 2018 Awards ceremony to be held on March 2.

KATHMANDU, March 1: A 14-member team from the SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneurs Council (SCWEC) has left for Colombo, Sri Lanka, to participate in the SAARC Women Entrepreneur 2018 Awards ceremony to be held on March 2.


Issuing a statement, the SCWEC said that the team is led by Rita Bhandary, vice chairperson of SCWEC, Nepal.

According to the statement, the award ceremony is being held for the first time to honor woman entrepreneur of SAARC countries. 


Along with 11 members of the SCWEC, the team comprises of two fashion designers, one singer, and the winner Best Nepali Woman Entrepreneur of 2018, Shyam Badan Shrestha.


Empowering women entrepreneurs in the SAARC region by recognizing their contribution to socio-economic growth of their respective countries is the cardinal objective of this regional award ceremony, according to the statement.
