Nepali national injured in Indian SSB firing along Nepal-India border

KANCHANPUR, Jan 5: A Nepali national was shot at by the Indian Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) near the Nepal-India border on Monday evening. He has received injury on his leg.


The injured youth has been identified as Narendra Sunar, 26, of Dodhara Chandani Municipality-1 in Kanchanpur.

The Indian SSB fired shots at the Nepali youth as he was walking around a forest located on the Indian side of border near Kanchanpur, Nepal Police said.


According to Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Police, Kanchanpur, Amar Bahadur Thapa, the injured has received a bullet on his leg.


"It seems that the Indian SSB shot at him when he was walking around a forest located on the Indian side of border near Kanchanpur. We are investigating the incident," DSP Thapa said.


The injured man has been taken to Mahakali Hospital for treatment. The reason behind the firing has yet to be ascertained, DSP Thapa said.
