Muslims gather early in the morning in outdoor locations or mosques to perform the Eid prayer, an obligatory prayer, on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr after taking bath and wearing new clothes.
Before the day of Eid, during the last few days of Ramadan, each Muslim gives a certain amount as a donation to the poor which is called Sadaqah al-Fitr, charity of fast-breaking.
This donation is of actual food including rice, wheat, and barley to ensure that the needy can have delicious food and participate in Eid celebrations.
Muslims usually busy themselves with meeting relatives and friends and giving gifts especially to children after the Eid prayer. They have special food called Sewai in Eid-ul-Fitr.
Meanwhile, various political parties have wished for prosperity, unity and peace for all Muslims across the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-fitr.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bijay Kumar Gachchhdar, who is also the Chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Democratic (MPRF-D), Chairman of Sadbhawana Party Rajendra Mahato, Chairman of Rashtriya Janashakti Party Surya Bahadur Thapa and Chairman of Federal Sadbhawana Party Anil Kumar Jha have also extended greetings to Muslims across the country.
