Nepali man hangs self in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR (Malaysia) March 24: A Nepali migrant worker has committed suicide in Malaysia on Tuesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Surya Bahadur Basnet of Kerabari Morang district.


Basnet, who had been working at a Kepong-based Korean restaurant, was found dead hanging at the hostel.

According to his friend Rasaman Tamang, the company was preparing to send Basnet back home after he was diagnosed with tuberculosis. He had made all the preparations and was flying back to Nepal tomorrow.

His body has been kept at a hospital for postmortem. Basnet had arrived in Malaysia five years ago.
