Nepali engineering students to participate in ABU Robocon

KATHMANDU, Aug 3: Students from Institute of Engineering (IOE) are going to participate in ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon).

KATHMANDU, Aug 3: Students from Institute of Engineering (IOE) are going to participate in ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon).  A team of twenty-five participants are going to participate in the competition which is going to be held on August 26 at Ninh Binh, Vietnam, among which six students are robot operators.


Two teams will compete with each other in three minutes. Each team is allowed to have two automatic robots or one automatic and one manual robot (two robots in total).The aim is to have one automatic robot from one team to throw shuttlecocks pass through the provided rings.

The ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) is an Asian Oceanian College robot competition, founded in 2002 by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. In the competition, robots compete to complete a task within a set period of time. The contest aims to create friendship among young people with similar interests who will lead their countries in the 21st century, as well as help advance engineering and broadcasting technologies in the region. The event is broadcast in many countries through ABU member broadcasters.
