KATHMANDU, Aug 8: A meeting of the mechanism formed to facilitate internal organization and upcoming convention of the Nepal Student Union (NSU), the student wing of main opposition Nepali Congress, on Wednesday decided to defer the convention deadline for three months.
Concluding that holding NSU convention is impossible within 10 days as the tenure of its Central Committee is expiring on August 18, the meeting of the mechanism decided to hold convention by the third week of November.
UML to hold district convention on January 7
Three months can be extended from the expiry of deadline set for convention as per the provisions laid down in the statute of the organization under special circumstances.
As per the decision, the mechanism will submit a report with an election schedule to the CC through NSU President by August 18.
