NEPALGUNJ, July 5: The fifth town assembly of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City has endorsed a budget of two billion 288 million 554 thousand rupees for the next fiscal year 2019/2020.

The town assembly on Thursday also endorsed the policy and program presented by mayor Dr Dhawal Shamsher Rana and the budget presented by deputy-mayoir Uma Thapa Magar, with reforms and amendments. The budget has earmarked Rs 1 billion 214 million 772 thousand towards current expenditure and Rs 1 billion 43 million 781 thousand towards capital expenditure. The budget allocated to the sub-metropolis' ward levels has also been increased in the revised budget.
Mayor Rana also presented the finance bill in the town assembly which is expected to make tax and revenue collection easier and effective. On the occasion, mayor Rana said the sub-metropolis has carried out important works including the construction of physical infrastructures in the two years' period and also expressed commitment to developing Nepalgunj into a model city in terms of development.
