Speaking in an exchange greeting program for Tihar and Chhat organized by CPN-UML Dang chapter, Nepal said, "Who is India to order Nepal? India may be a big country but when it comes to sovereignty, all countries are equal."
He said that the general public should understand it clear that India has solely imposed blockade to Nepal though it has been denying doing so.
"India is trying to punish us by imposing blockade for promulgating constitution. All Nepalese should stand together against India's unjust behavior," Nepal, a senior political leader of CPN-UML, lambasted India.
He said that there are no protests in other Nepal-India border points except Birgunj but still India does not allow vehicles to enter into Nepal from those operational border points. "If this is not blockade from Indian-side, what is this?"
Pointing to the protests in Southern plain of the country, he accused Madhes-based leaders for dancing to Indian tunes. "The new constitution has ensured equal rights to all communities. Protests will be clear if they read the constitution instead of showcasing drama along the no-man's land," he added.
He said Nepal should expand long-term trade relations with China to break India's monopoly on Nepal.
Similarly, Yubaraj Gyawali, CPN-UML vice-chairman, said that Nepal should not bow to India at anycost. "Otherwise, we shall not remain Nepali. To break India's monopoly, it is necessary to expand our trade relations with other countries."
