KATHMANDU, March 16: Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security, Krishna Kumar Shrestha and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister for Human Resource, Dr Abdulrahaman Al Awar, held a meeting on Tuesday.
At the meeting held in UAE capital Abudhabi, matters related to bilateral interest and welfare of Nepali workers in the UAE were discussed, according to the labor ministry.
On the occasion, Labor Minister Shrestha lauded the UAE government, noting the recent labor law was in favor of the immigrant workforce.

The two ministers agreed to work in tandem to resolve the problems of stranded Nepalis who came to the UAE on a visit visa, lured by employment, and bring the guilty in such incidents to book.
As informed, the UAE government will help book guilty individuals and institutions who brought people to the UAE on a visit visa with false promises of employment.
Also on the occasion, the UAE Minister Awar expressed his commitment to establish skill development training centers and help produce competent human resources by investing in capacity building.
According to Minister Shrestha's Secretariat, the UAE Minister also pledged to provide support to Nepal's bid for the establishment of a laborers' hospital.
The two ministers also discussed the issue related to social security, workforce safety, health and insurance and a pay hike for Nepali workers in the UAE.
