KATHMANDU, Oct 4: The Government of Nepal is all set to enter into bilateral labor agreements with two European countries, Germany and Romania, in a move aimed at facilitating labor migration and employment opportunities for Nepali workers abroad.
This decision was reached during a meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday. Communication and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma confirmed that the cabinet has approved the signing of labor agreements with these two countries. The Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security has been granted the authority to proceed with the agreement.
Nepal, Romania sign MoU for cooperation
Minister Sharma also mentioned that a delegation led by Labour Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari will participate in the signing ceremony of the labor agreements with Germany and Romania.
Additionally, the government has given its approval for bilateral talks and air service agreements between Nepal and Switzerland, as well as Nepal and Rwanda.
In a further development, the cabinet meeting decided to establish a bilateral consultation mechanism between the foreign ministries of Nepal and Malaysia, aimed at enhancing diplomatic and international relations between the two countries.
