KATHMANDU, May 2: Nepal Yoga Sports Association (NYA) is organizing the 1st South Asian Yoga Sports Championship from May 6 to 9 in Kathmandu.
Organizing a press meet in the capital on Tuesday, NYA informed that a total of 122 participants from four South Asian nations will take part in the competition that will feature four age-group events.
According to NYA's President Surya Bahadur Karki, 30 competitors from Nepal, 70 from India, 17 from Bangladesh and five from Pakistan will take part in the championship.
He also informed that the competitors will vie in the age group events of 8 to 12 years, 12 to 14 years, 14 to 18 years and 18 to 35 years including both individual and group categories.
The organizer also informed that two judges each from all the participating nations will conduct the championship. The total budget of the championship is Rs 2 million, according to the organizer.
