KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Crisis-hit Nepali national football team slipped two positions down to 192nd in the FIFA Rankings published by the football's world governing body on Thursday.
This is the worse ranking of Nepali football in its history. Previously, the lowest rank was 190 last month. Nepal's best ranking was 124th in 1993.
Nepal down one notch in FIFA Rankings
Nepal is in the seventh position among eight South Asian nations with Sri Lanka, which slipped three positions down to 194th, lying in the last position. Afghanistan, which also slipped six positions is still leading the South Asian nations with FIFA Ranking of 156th.
Similarly, the Maldives which climbed 10 positions up to 166 is second among SAFF nations, while India, which slipped five positions down to the 172 position, is third.
Likewise, Bangladesh is fourth among the South Asian nations on 180th position as it climbed two positions up, while Bhutan, which slipped seven positions down to 180th, is fifth followed by Pakistan (185) eight positions down in the latest rankings. Belgium is leading the world rankings followed by Germany and Argentina.
