Speaking at the annual general meeting of the Nepal Bankers’ Association, Governor Adhikari said the interbank rate has fallen to 7.07 percent from 8.5 percent. According to Adhikari, the standing liquidity facility being used by banks has also dropped to Rs 5 billion. “It shows an improvement in the liquidity position of the banks,” he said.

As of now, remittance has been the major driving force of the financial health of the country. “We have to make a paradigm shift through restructuring the country’s economic system,” Adhikari added.
