KATHMANDU, August 19: With 3,075 new cases of COVID-19 registered on Thursday, the number of active cases of COVID-19 in Nepal has reached 40,500.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 2,126 COVID-19 patients recovered and 33 succumbed to the disease on the same day.

Of the 40,500 active cases of COVID-19 across the country, 739 are in ICUs, 168 on ventilators, 37,114 in home isolation and 3,368 in institutional isolation.
As many as 16,438 COVID-19 tests were conducted on Thursday. Of them, 2,321 PCR and 754 antigen tests turned out to be positive for COVID-19.
Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 867 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. Of them, 639 were detected in Kathmandu, 101 in Bhaktapur and 127 in Lalitpur districts. There are currently 11,750 active cases of COVID-19 in the Valley alone.
Similarly, as many as 91,001 people received COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday.
