KATHMANDU, As many as 558 instances of tremors were felt in the country as it is geologically located in the earthquake prone zone, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre (NEMRC), Lainchaur.
Many tremors that measured above four-magnitude have taken place in the country since a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck the country on May 19 with its epicenter at Bhulbhule in Lamjung district, said seismologist Bharat Koirala.

Six persons were hurt and over 200 houses destroyed in the earthquake at Bhulbhule. Investigations into whether the quake at Bhulbhule is an aftershock of the 2015 Gorkha earthquake or a fresh one is still underway, he said.
So far, 558 cases of tremors measuring above four magnitude have taken place in the country since the Gorkha quake occurred, according to the NEMRC.
