Nepal records 235 new cases, 212 recoveries and four deaths on Friday

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Nepal recorded 235 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday along with 212 recoveries and four deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

As many as 9,084 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 224 PCR and 11 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 4,992 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,651 are in home isolation, 228 in institutional isolation, 89 in ICUs, and 24 on ventilators. Similarly, 103 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,590 people have died of the viral disease across the country.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 154 cases of the virus on Friday. Of them, 114 were recorded in Kathmandu, eight in Bhaktapur, and 32 in Lalitpur districts.
