Nepal records, 10,319 cases, 2,540 recoveries and four deaths on Monday

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Nepal recorded 10,319 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday along with 2,540 recoveries and four deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

As many as 21,201 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 8,054 PCR and 2,265 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 82,831 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 80,779 are in self-isolation, 1,771 in institutional isolation, 238 in ICUs, and 42 on ventilators. Similarly, 149 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,659 people have died of the viral infection across the country.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 4,676 cases of the virus on Monday. Of them, 3,634  were recorded in Kathmandu, 455 in Bhaktapur, and 587 in Lalitpur districts.
