Nepal recorded highest single day recovery of 5,225 COVID-19 patients, 9, 483 new cases and 225 deaths in past 24 hours

The number of active cases of COVID-19 nears 100,000

KATHMANDU, May 11: As many as 5,225 COVID-19 patients across the country have recovered in the past 24 hours. Likewise, Nepal has added 9,483 new cases and 225 deaths related to COVID-19 in the same time.

This so far the highest number of new cases, recoveries and deaths related to COVID-19 to be recorded in a single day in Nepal.

According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), as many as 20,596 PCR tests and 720 antigen tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Of them, 9,483 tests turned out to be positive.

With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally stands at 413,111 including 312,019 recoveries and 4,084 cases of fatality.

There are currently 97,008 active cases of COVID-19 across the country as of Tuesday afternoon. Of them, 89,914 are in home isolations, 7,094 in institutional isolations, 1,084 in ICUs and 290 on ventilators.

Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 3,927 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. Of them, 2,788 were detected in Kathmandu, 537 in Bhaktapur and 602 in Lalitpur districts.
