KATHMANDU, May 11: Leaders loyal to Madhav Nepal-KP Oli camp have swept election for CPN-UML’s politburo concluded late night Sunday. Out of 19 politburo members in the election fray, 11 were from Nepal-Oli camp and seven were from party Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal camp. A member, Bharat Mohan Adhikari, is still regarded neutral though he is close to Nepal. [break]
Bharat Mohan Adhikari, Rabindra Shrestha, Raghu Ji Pant, Mukunda Neupane, Pradip Gyawali, Pradip Nepal, Mahendra Pandey, Pashupati Choulagain, Prithvi Subba Gurung, Kashi Nath Adhikari, Bishnu Rimal and Urmila Aryal were elected to the party’s powerful body revived in the party after nearly two decades.
Tips to excel at work
Keshav Badal, Ashtha laxmi Shakya, Ram Chandra Jha, Rajendra Pandey, Surendra Pandey, Kashi Nath Adhikari and Chhabi Lal Bishwakarma also were elected to politburo.
Dharma Nath Prasad Sah, Ganga Lal Tuladhar, Nagendra Choudhari, Bedu Ram Bhushal, Bijay Subba, Khaga Raj Adhikari, Shrimaya Thakali, Arun Nepal, naresh Kharel and Tham Maya Thapa were elected to alternative politburo members. Out of them, five are loyal to Nepal and Oli, three are loyal to Khanal and one is neutral.
Eight-four members of the 86-member central committee cast their vote in the elections for 29 members in this 39-member body. Ten 10 Standing Committee members are ex-officio members. Chairman Khanal, vice-chairperson trio Bamdev Gautam, Bidya Bhandari and Ashok Rai, General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel, secretary trio Bishnu Poudel, Shankar Pokharel and Yuba Raj Gyawali, senior leader Madhav Nepal and KP Oli are its ex-officio members.
