Ganga Maya meets UN Resident Coordinator to Nepal seeking justice

KATHMANDU, Feb 4: As part of her efforts to internationalize her struggle for justice, Ganga Maya Adhikari held a meeting with UN Resident Coordinator to Nepal, Valerie Julliand in Kathmandu on Tuesday. 

Ganga Maya lost her husband in course of staging hunger strike demanding to book those involved in the murder of her son, Krishna Prasad during the insurgency. 

She said that the Nepali state is unwilling and unable to deliver justice for her son’s murder. "I want to remind humankind and the international community of their responsibility to act for justice," she said.

Ganga Maya said that she will continue her struggle as long as justice is not delivered.  After her meeting with Ganga Maya today, UNRC Julliand told reporters that Nepal's transitional justice process needs to be revised in a bid to provide justice to the conflict victims.

"Nepal, being the member of the UN, should respect to the human rights and provide justice to the conflict victims," she said.
