The host has maintained a perfect record winning both its previous matches, while Nepal lost all three. Therefore, the match against Qatar will be the last opportunity for Nepal to open its account. Nepal was defeated 2-1 by Turkmenistan, 1-0 by India and 5-0 by Uzbekistan, while Qatar defeated Turkmenistan 7-0 and India 2-0.

The winners of nine groups and the six best runners-up will join host Myanmar in the finals of the competition scheduled for October 2014.
