KATHMANDU, September 6: The umbrella organization of the Nepali print and electronic media, Nepal Media Society has decided to start a campaign against corruption.
The society announced the decision during a special program organized in the capital on Wednesday.
Issuing a press statement after the program, the society has concluded that the tax paid by the public has been mishandled and manipulated by few leaders of the country and has urged Nepali from all walks of life to raise their voices against prevailing corruption in the country.
“We urge Nepali from all walks of life to express their solidarity and join us in our campaign against the corruption for the political purge and transparency that will lead to a corruption free country”, reads the statement, signed by society chairperson Puskar Lal Shrestha and general secretary Shubha Shanker Kandel, adding that the society is committed to run the campaign against the corruption in all levels of the society.
