Nepal limited to heats

SINGAPORE, June 30: Nepali athletes failed to advance beyond the heats stage in the track events of the First Youth Asian Games 2009 in Singapore.



However Siddhanta Adhikari narrowly missed out by fractions of a second. Adhikari, who finished the 100 m race in 59.64 secs, appeared unlucky as runners completing the race within 59.52 secs advanced to the next round. Out of the 17 runners running the heat, Adhikari beat participants from Kuwait, Bahrain, Myanmar, Maldives, Kazakhstan and Qatar.



Nepal will participate in athletics, basketball, shooting and table tennis on Wednesday.
