Kathmandu, June 11, 2023: The Nepal Internet Foundation (NIF) commemorated the 3rd anniversary of “Selfie with Daughter” Day in Nepal. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr Bikram Shrestha, President of NIF, Kalpana Shrestha, and Coordinator of ‘Selfie with Daughter’ Nepal.


According to the statement issued by the Foundation, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University organized a Selfie with Daughter virtual event that was especially geared toward daughters with disabilities in a wonderful display of inclusivity. More than 90 people and organizations from Nepal participated in the virtual program. The Selfie with Daughter Nepal Coordinator Kalpana Shrestha, President of the Nepal Internet Foundation Bikram Shrestha, and other NIF staff members enthusiastically participated in the online campaign, furthering the cause.

Bikram Shrestha highlighted the value of gender equality while urging daughters to pursue their aspirations and fighting for fair treatment for all people. Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal of Haryana, the distinguished chief guest, gave a stirring speech in which he emphasized the importance of treating daughters equally to sons.


Speaking at the event were Anvi, the brand ambassador for the Selfie with Daughters initiative Signature Campaign, and Ridam, the 2023 winner of the Selfie with Daughter Award. A video presentation on the ‘Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao’ (Save and Educate Daughters) campaign educated the audience and emphasized the need of protecting and educating girls. Esteemed guests, including Prof Dinesh Kumar from HVC Gurugram University, Prof Sujata Shaahi from HVC IILM, Shri Arvind Kaul, MD of East West Automation Technologies, Shri Mohit Oswal, MD of Roop Automotive, Shri Dharamrakshit, HR Head at Hero Motocorp, Dr C.K. Gariyaali, Retd. IAS, and Ms. Amba Watal also delivered addresses, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in creating a better future for daughters.


Through its celebration of the third anniversary of Selfie with Daughter Day, the Nepal Internet Foundation reaffirms its dedication to gender equality and the empowerment of all daughters, especially those who are disabled. The Foundation is committed to promoting a culture in which every daughter has an equal rights and opportunities to succeed and advance our country.


The event was a rousing success, conveying to all of Nepal the message of love, support, and equal possibilities for girls. The Nepal Internet Foundation is still committed to advancing gender equality and will keep fighting for our society daughters.
