The signed agreements include air service agreement, extension of Indian railway link to six border points with Nepal, construction of a Polytechnic institute in Hetauda and a conference hall in Birgunj. [break]
The railroad extension includes construction of 183 km railroad at five different border points -- Jayanagar- Bijalpura, Bijalpura- Bardibas, Jogbani- Biratnagar, Nautanwa- Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj Road- Nepalgunj, and New Jalpaiguri- Kakarbhitta.
Similarly, the Nepal Bharat Maitri Polytechnic occupying about 32 acres of land will be established in Hetauda, while the conference hall will be built in 1.17 hectares of land in Birgunj.
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh hosted a luncheon at Hyderabad House in honor of President Yadav on Tuesday afternoon.
Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sarat Singh Bhandari, Nepali Ambassador to India Rukma Shumsher Rana and other members of the president´s entourage were present on the occasion. The president will visit Haridwar on Wednesday.
This is president Yadav´s first foreign trip since he was elected Nepal´s head of state in July 2008.
