594 people recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours
KATHMANDU, Jan 4: Nepal has the highest (97.1 percent) COVID-19 recovery rate among the eight countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Nepal has the highest recovery rate of 97.1 percent followed by India with 96.2 percent and the Maldives with 95.2 percent. As of Monday afternoon, as many as 255,088 people who had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered in Nepal.
Likewise, Bhutan stands last in the recovery tally among the SAARC countries with a COVID-19 recovery rate of 63.4 percent. However, Bhutan has not witnessed any case of fatality linked with COVID-19 so far.
The health ministry also confirmed 403 new cases of COVID-19 identified through 4,401 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests conducted in the past 24 hours.
Similarly, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll now stands at 1,885 with seven more death cases recorded on Monday.
