"ILO has accepted our proposal to help Nepal in building capacity and technical expertise to establish good labor relations," said Subedi. During the 100th ILO Conference, the Director General of ILO, Juan Somavia, agreed to provide internship opportunity for two Nepali officers from the ministry every year.
"DG Sanavia has approved our proposal to provide internships and fellowships to government officials from Nepal to build our human resources and to face evolving socio-economic challenges," Mohammad Ishtiyaq Rayi, Minister of Labor and Transport Management told mediapersons. The ILO conference was held from July 1 to 17.
Krishna Hari Pushkar Karna, joint-spokesperson at the ministry, who was also part of the Nepali delegation, said that Papua New Guinea and Mauritius have promised to provide safe working opportunity for more Nepali
"These nations also proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding which will help us strengthen the ties," said Karna.
He also said that the governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia have agreed to tie up diplomatic bonds with Nepal. "Both nations have begun work to establish embassy in Nepal, which will help Nepali workers working in these nations," he added.
