Nepal gets 269-run target against India U-23

KATHMANDU, Aug 19: Nepal got the target of the 269 runs against Indian under-23 cricket team in its second match of the ACC Emerging Teams Cup at Kallang Cricket Ground in Singapore on Tuesday.



After winning the toss and electing to field first, Nepal restricted India to 268 for five in 50 overs. For India, Lokesh Rahul top scored with 88 runs whereas Suryakumar Yadav and Unmukta Chand made 65 and 61 runs respectively.[break]



For Nepal, expensive Bashanta Regmi took 3 wickets by giving away 90 runs in 10 overs. Shakti Gauchan and Avinash Karna grabbed a wicket each.



Nepal had lost its first match against archrival associate nation Afghanistan on Saturday by three runs as the lower-order folded miserably. On the other hand, India U-23 defeated Pakistan U-23 by three wickets in its first match of the tournament on Sunday. Meanwhile, Pakistan U-23 beat Afghanistan by two wickets on Monday to keep alive its semifinal hopes.
