KATHMANDU, April 25: A meeting of the high-level government committee for the prevention and control of coronavirus in Nepal has decided to extend the suspension of domestic and international flights until May 15. Earlier, the flights had been halted until April 30.
The meeting of the committee held on Saturday, however, hasn’t made any decision regarding the extension or easing of the lockdown, according to the secretary at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Narayan Prasad Bidari. “Although the meeting evaluated all the efforts made to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Nepal, no decision was taken today on whether to extend or ease the lockdown,” Bidari added.
Suspension on int'l flights extended till April 30
Bidari further said that the next cabinet meeting will take the necessary decisions in this regard.
The nationwide lockdown, which was extended for the third time on April 14 will end on the coming Monday, if not extended.
