Nepal exports cardamom worth Rs 3.5 billion

The largest share of these exports went to India, with 2,074,500 kg of cardamom worth Rs 3.4563 billion sent across the border.

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Cardamom exports from Nepal have reached a total value of Rs 3.5 billion in the first five months of the current fiscal year. According to the data at the Department of Customs, 2,074,865 kg of cardamom, valued at Rs 3.4572 billion, were exported between mid-July and mid-December 2024.


The largest share of these exports went to India, with 2,074,500 kg of cardamom worth Rs 3.4563 billion sent across the border.

In addition, smaller quantities were exported to other countries, including 240 kg to France, valued at Rs 720,000, 110 kg to Australia, worth Rs 173,000, and 15 kg to Switzerland, worth Rs 44,000.
