Nepal cricket team to go Sri Lanka for training

KATHMANDU, July 13: Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is all set to send the national cricket players to Sri Lanka to play practice matches in preparation for the ACC Emerging Team Cup Cricket Tournament to be held in Singapore from August 17 to 25. [break]



The national team will play practice matches with the Sri Lankan national team from August 1 to 14 before setting off for Singapore for the tournament from there.



CAN Secretary Uttam Kumar Karmacharya said that the practice matches would provide an opportunity to assess the level of play of the Nepali players.



Nepal, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan are placed in Group A in the tournament while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE and the host country Singapore are placed in Group B. The matches will be played in 50 overs.
