Nepal secured team championship with six gold and eight bronze medals coming ahead of Malaysia that finished runner-up with five gold, three silver and two bronze medals. USA finished third with two gold one silver and four bronze medals. [break]
Nepal finished ahead of overnight leader Malaysia after Anoj Pujari and Sujan Joshi ended male players gold drought and Apsara Karki became the fourth woman player to secure first position.
Malaysian player Shari Fahmaryam Alawiyan in women´s 53-57 kg and Jared Reed of USA in men´s 80-87 kg were the other gold medal winners of the day.
Nepal confirmed the team championship title after Sujan Joshi beat Malaysian player Rusfredy Tokan 4-3 in the last bout of 58-63 kg as the title was hanging in balance with both Nepal and Malaysia having five gold medals each in their kitty.
Joshi confirmed the title for Nepal in the last few seconds of the last round after he achieved target for slap kick on face and secured three points.
Earlier, Malaysian Tokan had an upper hand as he was leading the bout 3-1 with a face kick in the last round. Joshi got first one point after Tokan got two warnings (kyong-go). None of the players could score point during the first and second rounds of the competitive match.
The medal became the first gold for 21-year-old Joshi who won his career´s first international title. "I was under pressure to win the gold as Nepal´s title chance was dependent on the result of the bout I played," he said. He has participated in the 16th Asian Games and the 21st World Championship.

Joshi had earlier defeated Md Talat Mahmud of Bangladesh in the semifinal after getting bye in quarters. Tokan had defeated Borik Parno of India in semifinal bout.
Anoj Pujari won the gold in his debut international tournament in the 68-74 kg category. Pujari was declared the winner in the first round after Mohammad Anwar Hossain of Bangladesh quit the bout after he picked injuries.
Pujari, 23, was on charge with the score of 7-1 while Hossain decided to leave the match. Pujari had defeated Faqeer Hussain of Pakistan 11-5 in the semifinal and Hossain had defeated Aushutosh Kumar Roy of India 3-2.
"I knew I would not return empty handed," said Pujari who succeeded in qualifying for international tournament after increasing his weight from 63-68 kg category. "I used to lost to Aasish Maharjan in all bouts before increasing my weight. Now my target is upcoming South Asian Games (SAG)."
In 46-49 kg women´s final, Apsara Karki beat Noor Hana Ho Dike of Malaysia 11-7. She made a heroic comeback in the last round when she collected seven points.

Until the end of the second round she was trailing by four points as the score was 3-7. But in the last round, she got four points through hammer kick on face and a slap kick above neck. Karki got three points after Nepal´s Korean coach Kwan Young Dal appealed for video replay and his appeal was endorsed.
The day became upsetting for Gyani Chunara as she lost 2-12 against Shari Fahmaryam Alawiyan in women´s 53-57 kg category. Chunara got one point each in first and second rounds and failed to open account in the third. Alawiyan got five points each in first and second rounds and two in the third round.

Similarly, Badri Nath Basnet was defeated 8-11 in the competitive bout by Jared Reed in men´s 80 kg category. Basnet got three points in first one point in second and four points in last bout.
Reed shaped his victory in the first round after he garnered five points. In the second round he got two and four points in the last round.
