Talking to RSS following the talks, Minister for Information and Communications, Madhav Poudel informed regarding an agreement between the two countries.
In response to a proposal at the meeting to form a permanent bilateral mechanism on television programmes and other areas of communication sector, both the sides were agreed to carry out respective necessary homework on it and move ahead for the agreement through diplomatic channel, Minister Poudel said.
We also emphasized on the need of training in the media sector and the exchange of the success gained by China in the field of information and technology, he added.
Responding positively to Nepal´s request, the Chinese Communications Minister said the objective of his visit was to expand and consolidate China´s relations with the media houses and media persons of Nepal.
China also wishes to take the bilateral relations based on equality and respect to a new height, Minister Poudel quoted his Chinese counterpart as saying.
Minister Poudel said he emphasized on the need of enforcement of the relations reached between Nepal Television and the CCTV of China.
High-raking officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai were present on the occasion.
